We'll use this epi curve to implement a brush/focus feature. These two are vconcatenated. This is done via the contents of vconcat[0].encoding.x.scale and vconcat[1].selection
This got a little nuts as I combined vconcat with layer to produce a layered/vconcatenated display; what we could do to smooth this out is just layer bar/7day-average lines.
